In the third segment in CHMA’s coverage of the MLA candidates debate, the four candidates vying to represent Memramcook-Tantramar in New Brunswick’s Legislative Assembly respond to questions about the economy and public finances.

The first question on the topic of the economy was submitted by a student: What will you do to ensure job opportunities for university graduates, so that they don’t have to move out of province to find work?

A member of the public asked: What will you cut to balance the provincial budget?

What will your party do to stimulate small businesses?

What is your position on pay equity for women, both in the public and private sectors?

A member of the audience asked: What is your party’s position on the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) that is being negotiated between Canada and Europe?

The debate concluded with a five-minute open session, during which candidates responded to each other’s positions on the economy.
