The Town of Sackville, EOS Eco-Energy, and the Mount Allison Student Union got together on Tuesday, September 2, for the official launch of the 100 amp electric vehicle charger installed at the Visitor Information Centre in Sackville, New Brunswick. Mayor Robert Barry, Amanda Marlin of EOS, and Harry Smith of Sun Country Highway, the company that built the charger, made public addresses, and then plugged it into the first electric vehicle to be charged in Sackville. Mayor Berry said that “the days are over” when we can think of ourselves in the planning stage of sustainable transitions. For Berry, it is time for action.

Volunteer correspondent Julia Feltham brings us coverage of the event, including a comment from Annie Sherry, VP-External of MASU, talking about the power of partnership between community groups, the municipality, and students.
